Environmental Offsetting - Mangrove, Coral, Seagrass Relocation

Environmental Offsets (Ecosystem Restoration)

Supervision of Mangrove, Coral, and Seagrass Relocation in Qatar

The construction of the Hamad Port in Doha required careful management of sensitive marine habitats, including seagrass meadows, mangroves, and hard coral communities. To offset habitat loss from the port development, a comprehensive program of habitat relocation and long-term monitoring was implemented.

We supervised and independently monitored these relocation activities, ensuring that compensation measures were effective and accurately reported. Our role included stakeholder liaison, data collection, analysis, and reporting, alongside providing ongoing environmental advice to the New Doha Port Steering Committee to ensure high standards of environmental protection were maintained throughout the project.
